Living salvation …

Believe it or not, salvation is easy,
… because Jesus has already done what is necessary!
However, living that salvation is where the catch is,
… because you have to do what is necessary!

I have come that they may have life,
and that they may have it more abundantly.
      John 10:10

Salvation is real and therefore a real turning point in your life,
… for it is not just about receiving salvation and life,
but for it to be real in your life,
… you have to live and act upon your salvation!

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed,
not as in my presence only,
but now much more in my absence,
      work out your own salvation
      with fear (respect) and trembling (excitement);
      Phil 2:12-13

You cannot do anything to deserve salvation,
… Jesus did what was necessary.
But you have to do something about living that new life,
so that the fullness of salvation will manifest in your life,
… and to enjoy the benefits of salvation!

So, how do I do that?

Receiving salvation

Salvation is not an issue,
… Jesus already made the way!
All you need do,
… is to accept that Jesus is Lord! (as savior)

Remember the thief that was crucified at the same time as Jesus

But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying,
“Do you not even fear God,
seeing you are under the same condemnation?
      And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds;
but this Man has done nothing wrong.”
      Then he said to Jesus,
“Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.
      Luke 23:40-42

He did not ask for forgiveness, so he would be saved,
… all he did was to simply recognise Jesus as Lord!

And what was Jesus’ reply?

Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.
      Luke 23:43

What Jesus did on the cross, was NOT easy,
… and that He gave His life for us, was NOT easy.
But salvation, because of what Jesus did,
… that’s easy!

Simply accept Jesus as your saviour and Lord!

Do you LOVE me?

We all want to be able to say,
I love God, I love Jesus!
And there is no reason why we can’t say that,
… and really mean it.
So, why does it seem so difficult or unreal sometimes?

Is there justification for us to say, ‘I love Jesus’
… and mean it,
… irrespective of whether the Bible commands this?

Yes there is,
by simply receiving what Jesus has done for you.

Love has been perfected among us in this:
      that we may have boldness in the day of judgment;
because as He is, so are we in this world.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear,
      because fear involves torment.
But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
We love Him because He first loved us.
      1 John 4:17-19

The key to our relationship with Jesus is, that
we love Him because He first loved us!

That tells us, that unless we actually receive His love,
.. we will not be able to truly love Him.

In John 21:15-17, Jesus taught Peter this truth,
that we have nothing to give until we receive from Him,
His LOVE and all that He has to give to us.
(Also refer article      – Do you LOVE Me – )

Then, with His love in us,
… we have what it takes to truly love Him,
… and to express His love to others!

Crowned with glory

What makes man – the man he is?

God created Lucifer to reflect His glory,
… so that every time Lucifer came into God’s presence,
Lucifer reflected God’s glory.
Then one day Lucifer decided he wanted to have God’s glory,
… and we know the rest,
God threw him out of heaven!

      But when God made man,
God did not make man out of anything special,
… but He made man out of something rather common,

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground,
      Gen 2:7

YET, what God put into man was special,
God put His spirit in man, His life,
… so that man could live out what God put inside.
So that man would express God’s glory,
… and not only reflect it!

You (God) have crowned him (man) with glory and honor.
      Ps 8:5

That was not just unique, great, fantastic or unheard of,
… but a slap in Lucifer’s face.

There is however a condition to this,
… the condition that proves its reality.

      MAN, you have to choose,
… to be what God created you to be!
You have to live that image He created you in,
      … His image in you!

I am who God says I am …

I am who God says I am!
I can do what God says I can do!

    Just remember that …
I have to be what He says I am!
I have to do what He says I can do!
    God is waiting for me
… so He can enable me to be what He says,
… so He can enable me to do what He says!

I’m ready, what about you?

Technology today is making most anything possible,
… and seemingly unlimited both in our private and work environment,
bringing with it increased personal, communication and travel freedom.

However, whilst all this technology brings huge benefits,
smart phones, social networks and worldwide communications,
… have also enabled an increase of intrusions into our lives,
on most every level in our personal and private spheres.
Our online activities, emails, phone calls and maybe soon our thoughts …

Truth is that though most inventions are created for our benefit,
… they are as often developed and used for negative purposes!

How should we respond to this probable intrusion into our privacy?
Should we be concerned or is there possibly a positive aspect to this?

In considering the positive and negative forces in life,
… there is one thing that is sure, and that is,
… that the positive outweighs the negative!
However, there is one major difference,
… to achieve the positive requires effort, and real input!
So what  positive aspect or application can there possibly be,
… to being able to enter another’s private sphere?
Well of course only if this ‘intrusion’
… brings with it positive solutions and direction!

Is there such a possibility?
Sure is …

God does not need technology or cunning applications,
… to read our mails, phone calls or even our thoughts!
And, God wants to be part of our lives,
    … of our decision making
… so that He can be part of our success.

But only as we open ourselves to Him,
… can He give us the right answer and direction.
For that reason the Bible encourages us saying …

casting down arguments and every high thing
that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,
bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
    — 2Cor. 10:5

The incentive however must come from our side,
… before the answer and provision come from His side!
You see, God can know all about us,
… but He will not do that unless we allow Him,
… unless we invite Him into our every thought.
Then He will respond to those thoughts,
… and give us the direction we need!

The reality is that God does not want to know about us,
… but He wants to know us personally,
… so He can bless us personally.

How do you do that?
Well here is where social network application are of immense value!
… selfies, sharing, likes and comments.

Simply …
Make a Selfieof your heart, your thoughts!
Share it  … with God, make Him your confidant!
Let Him commentand show you the way to success!

Trusting God …

My name is David Waluse from Webuye, where my family lives. I am a District Educational Officer, but as the Education Department does not normally place district officers in their home districts, I have been stationed in Mombasa for many years now.

Away from my family for many years, I decided to go home and the only option was to resign, which I did, telling my boss I needed to be closer to my family. When I told my wife (a graduate of the Covenant Disciples Bible Training) she immediately said she was going to pray about this. After a few days she called and told me I need to tell my boss that I don’t want to resign and would go anywhere he send me. She said we needed to trust God and God will honor our faith. Although I was not a believer at the time, I agreed to do that.

My boss agreed to cancel my resignation but informed me that he was transferring me to North East Kenya on the Somali border. That is probably the worst area to be sent, but as I had agreed, I went. Well even before I reached the North East district, my boss phoned me and told me that he wanted to test my trustworthiness and as I had kept my word, I should turn around and come back to the offices. Back at the office my boss told me that he was in fact transferring me to my home district, to Webuye.

Praise God. I have since made Jesus Lord in my life and been baptized.

Have you…?

    Christmas time is about giving,
… but where there is a giving,
… there must also be a receiving,
    have you?

Yes it’s Christmas time,
… when giving seems uppermost on most people’s minds.
Yet so often that giving is not really from the heart,
… but a habit, or from a sense of necessity!

However, if you look at the act of giving,
… from the other side of the coin,
then you will see the value there should be,
… in this special time and season!

What about looking at receiving,
… and consider that where there is a giving,
… there also must be a receiving!
Therefore, if you do not or cannot receive,
… you will actually have nothing to give!

    But remember,
… it is not about things,
… it is all about the heart!

Why is there a Christmas anyway?

Because someone gave His all for you,
… in fact He gave His life for you!
    … without asking your permission!

Are you ready to receive His gift?
… because that does need your permission!
He valued you so much He gave His life,
…. and if you receive that gift of life,
you also will have something special in you, to give!

By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us.
And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need,
and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
    1Jn 3:16

A pledge to a real VISION

Should children recite the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of each ‘school’ day?
The first 12 or so times, teaches you the contents and helps you remember the words!
After that …
Anything done without a goal, vision or HEART, is meaningless!

Remember the young man called Joshua,
… well God spoke to him about this kind of pledge.
Joshua had been given the task of leading God’s people into the promised land,
… an awesome task!
So to make sure that Joshua would succeed, God said this to him …

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth,
but you shall meditate in it day and night,
that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.
For then you will make your way prosperous,
and then you will have good success.
Joshua 1:8

The potential, power and strength in that instruction,
… in that Allegiance (as in any pledge or allegiance)
is not in what you say, but as God Himself said,
is that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it!
For only then will you prosper and have success!

A pledge of Allegiance is only as effective as the goal, vision and heart behind it!
A goal and a vision one can get by repetition,
… but a heart that empowers, quantifies and qualifies that vision,
… is born out of what you see and observe in others.

If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar;
for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen,
how can he love God whom he has not seen?
1 John 4:20

Unless the parents, teachers and official representatives of those children,
… are living examples of that Allegiance,
… are observing (doing) what is written in it,
that pledge will be empty!
… or as twisted as the picture the children see,
at home, on TV, at school, in the street, on fakebook, etc…

Jesus said, make disciples; in other words,
be an example for others to follow
so they can pledge Allegiance to a real vision!
