Is God Omnipresent?

Posted on 1 CommentPosted in Faith, Life, Potential

Scripture tells us that God is omnipresent.
However, His presence in our lives
… is dependent on us, and not on Him.

The air that we need to live is also everywhere,
… but it is up to us to breathe!
And, the quality of the air that we breathe,
… is also dependent on us, not the air!

We have to make sure we get the best out of it.
We have to make sure the air is not polluted,
… and that the oxygen content is replenished.
Not only is air part of our lifeline,
… but we have the responsibility to look after it.

Our relationship with God is exactly the same,
… we are responsible for that relationship to exist.
God is not going to run after us,
… but if we go to Him, He is there waiting for us!
As we connect with Him,
… He will make sure we have what we need to live,
… and that we are blessed, healthy and prosperous!

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
      James 4:8

A reality that we can see throughout Jesus’ ministry …

But when the multitudes heard it,
they followed Him on foot from the cities.
      And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude;
and He was moved with compassion for them,
      and healed their sick.

      Matt 14:13-14

God is not only Omnipresent …
but as you get into His presence,
His omnipotence will come into your presence.

      Matt.9:35-36, Matt.15:32, Matt.20:34, Mark 1:41, Mark 9:22, Luke 15:20-24, Jer.33:3

Living or surviving by faith?

Posted on Leave a commentPosted in Faith, Life, Potential

Scripture tells us …
      Now the just shall live by faith;
      But if anyone draws back,
My soul has no pleasure in him.
      Heb 10:38

The question however is,
Are you living by faith?
… or merely trying to survive by faith?

Scripture also says …
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray,
believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
      Mark 11:24

Yet so often this just does not seem to work!
… I believe I will have what I ask,
… but I just don’t seem to receive it!

How then does one live by faith?

Living by faith is not about what you believe,
… neither is it about who you believe,
but living by faith is a lifestyle,
… a personal relationship with the O ne you believe!

For this very reason Jesus said to us …
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you.
      Matt 6:33

Living by faith is not about what you do,
… but it is about who you are running with!

If your life is with the Living God,
… you will not just be living,
your life will also be what God said it would be!

It’s not about the bullets…

Posted on Leave a commentPosted in Life, Potential

No, it’s not about the bullets,
      … it’s about the shield!

There is not too much you can do
… about things that come against you,
… about people who oppose you or oppose what you do,
nor about the thoughts or pressures that come your way!

Yet the Bible tells us there are things we can do,
… and that we should do!

Put on the whole armour of God, that
you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
      Eph 6:11

      It’s not about the bullets,
      … it’s about the shield!

However, there is something important about this armour,
… about this shield that God has given us.
We need not only to take it up,
but most importantly, we need to …

      take the helmet of salvation,
      Eph 6:17

that makes it possible for us to …
bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
      2 Cor 10:5

For …
the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for
pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every
high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God …
      2 Cor 10:4-5

Take up that shield and get connected,
… and let God show you how to beat those bullets!

His Provision

Posted on 1 CommentPosted in Covenant, Potential

His supply is according to His heart!

We so often go to God,
… telling Him what we need or lack,
asking Him to meet that need,
… or to supply what we lack.

God’s supply is not according to our need,
… but God’s supply is always according to His provision,

And my God shall supply all your need according
to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
      Phil 4:19

So, don’t go to Him according to your need,
… but go to Him according to His provision,

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you.
      Matt 6:33

God’s riches and God’s supply,
… are not about you or what you need,
but they are always about who He is,
… and what He wants to do in your life!

As Jesus said to us …
Come to Me, all you who labour
      and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
      Matt 11:28

Even though your need is important to God,
… He can do nothing about it until you come into His rest,
… until you are there where He can minister to your need.

So, seek His kingdom, His rest
… and what you need will be supplied
according to His riches in Christ Jesus!

A God of Increase

Posted on 2 CommentsPosted in Life, Potential

If the first is blessed … the rest is blessed

God is a God of increase,
He wants to increase us, and He wants us to increase,
and the very first thing God did was to decree a blessing on us,
    … saying to us,
    Be fruitful … Increase! (Gen.1:28)

However God not only wants to increase us materially,
… but wants to bless us in all our ways, in all of life,
so that our abilities will increase,
… and our actions blessed,
and His favor rest on our entire being.

Therefore …

God told us to bring Him our first fruit,
… what is and what we value and consider our best.
So that He can bless the rest of what we have,
… with His value and with His best.

Give God 1/10th of your increase, of your best,
… and He will sanctify, bless and increase the rest … your 9/10th.
Give God 1/10th of your time, of your life,
… and He will sanctify, bless and increase the rest of your life and being.
Give God 1/10th of your ability and of your brain,
… and He will sanctify, bless and increase all you set your hand to!

By your works?

Posted on Leave a commentPosted in Challenge, Potential

Why you do what you do,
… determines your position before God!

Whilst we were outside of God’s kingdom,
… we did stupid things, even bad things,
yet that did not stop God from reaching out to us!

Now, having decided to sort our lives out,
… how do we get right with God?
Will our works get us right with God?
We can do nothing in our own strength to get saved!
… but simply receive what He has done,
and get into a relationship with Him,
… living our lives according to His principles!

Having become part of God’s family,
if we now do something wrong, something bad,
is that going to change our position with God?
Since our works cannot make us right with God,
… neither can our works take us away from God!

As we are in a relationship with God,
… living according to His principles,
our mistakes will simply be mistakes,
… and will certainly not phase God.

But, if we purposefully turn away from God,
… and stop living according to His principles,
we negate what He has done in our lives,
… and again become responsible for our lives.

Why you do what you do,
… is what determines your position before God.
    Receiving what He has done,
… is what determines your future with Him!

Understanding God

Posted on 1 CommentPosted in Character, Potential

God is greater than my logic, beyond my intellect!

Is it possible to truly serve a God,
… Who is greater than my logic,
… and Who is above my intellect?

Yes it is because I have His mind*,
and therefore He can help me understand Him,
… so that I can benefit from Who He is,
… and live in the fullness of His provision.

God created us to be like Him**,
… so He will help us be all that we should be.
God did not create us to be Him,
… so we will never know all He knows,
… so we will never understand all that He is,
But He will always help us, enable us,
… to become more like Him,
… and provide all we need to accomplish that.

The devil tries to tell us that if we do things our way,
… then we can be like God.
How can that ever work?
Think, use your logic, your intellect.

God made us to be like Him.
So for us to be what He made us to be,
… we need to do things His way!

If we do it our way,
… the way we can think or understand,
then we can only be like us,
… and not what we were made to be!

Praise God that we cannot fully understand Him,
… and therefore we need to depend on Him,
so that He can give us all we need,
… so we can be like the most High God.

Hear Him…

Posted on 3 CommentsPosted in Covenant, Relationship

Why do we so often seem to see or want to see
… a difference between Jesus and the Father?
Do we really think that they are different,
… that they deal differently with different situations?

Jesus is not our Advocate because of our needs,
… but because of what the Father gave Him to do,
and what He does on our behalf,
… He does because of His position not our condition!
And therefore the Father said …

And a voice came out of the cloud, saying,
“This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!”
    Luke 9:35

Jesus in explaining this relationship said to His disciples …

    “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also;
and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”
Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long,
and yet you have not known Me, Philip?
He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say,
    ‘Show us the Father’?
Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me?
    The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority;
but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.

Jesus is not going to ask the Father
… to bless you because you need it,
but He will ask the Father to bless you because of His love for you!

Jesus is not going to work through you because you ask Him to,
… but He is going to work through you because the Father told Him to!

The Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are ONE,
… and what they decide, say and do,
will at all times be what they decide as ONE!

Knowing the real you.

Posted on 2 CommentsPosted in Covenant, Relationship

    God knows your problems,
… but does He know you?

Jesus personally came and gave Himself for us,
… we therefore can say ‘Jesus is my personal saviour’
However, have you given yourself ‘personally’ to Him?

When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door,
and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying,
‘Lord, Lord, open for us,‘ and He will answer and say to you,
‘I do not know you, where you are from,’
then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence,
and You taught in our streets.’
    But He will say,
‘I tell you I do not know you, where you are from.
Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.’
    Luke 13:25-27

Why did Jesus say that the Father will say ‘I do not know you’,
… when those people were known to Him and probably even went to church?

Jesus was teaching on relationship (and that is not a boat full of family),
… and He was saying that a relationship is not possible if it is one-sided.

God through Jesus and the Holy Spirit opened Himself up to us, in love,
… in every facet of His being, without any reservation in any way,
… to the point of dying naked on the cross, for us!
    What about you?
Have you opened your ‘SELF’ up to God,
… to His expectations, to His conditions?
and most of all your secrets, unconditionally trusting Him and His Word?

God comes to express to us who He is, Love.
… He has opened Himself and all that He is, to us and for us!

Are we opening ourselves, who and what we truly are, to love
… or are we simply looking for love to meet our needs?
Our needs are met not because we are looking for love,
… but because we opened ourselves to Love!

That is why Jesus said, “I don’t know you”,
Love lives to give, but only when He becomes REAL in us,
… and as we open our lives to Him,
Love will come into our lives and we become known to Him!

Conformed or Transformed?

Posted on Leave a commentPosted in Life, Responsibility

You cannot transform something you are conformed to,
you have to be transformed
… to be conformed to something else!

In other words,
you will always have the same results,
whilst your thinking remains based on the same thoughts!

In order to have different results,
… you need to change what you are thinking about!

    Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
    2 Cor 5:17

Yes all things have become new, and your life has been transformed,
… everything except what controls your life, your free will.
God cannot and will not control the free will He gave you,
… and therefore says to us quite clearly,

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed
by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is
that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
      Rom 12:2

You cannot and will not live in the fullness of that new life, in Christ
… whilst your mind is still conformed to this world and its ways.
Only once you allow your mind to be renewed to God’s ways
… will you become transformed into that new creation you now are!

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
      kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
Against such there is no law.
      Gal 5:22-23

All of those characteristics are deposited in us when we become born again,
But we have to choose to respond to them,
… and we have to live them.
