Have Faith…

Posted on 2 CommentsPosted in Faith, Life, Relationship

Faith is not what you believe,
                                              but Who you believe!

What is faith all about?
No, it’s not primarily about believing for something,
… or about believing for a promise from God.
Sure faith is necessary for those things,
but, why did God give us faith?

But without faith it is impossible to please Him,
      Heb 11:6

So what is it that pleases God?
Well, ask yourself, why did God create us?
Clearly to have a personal relationship with us,
… and we having a personal relationship with Him!

However for us to have a personal relationship with God,
we need to believe that there is a God,

for he who comes to God must believe that He is,
      Heb 11:6

… and to believe that He is, we need faith!
So Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Have faith in God.’
      Mark 11:22

And it is that faith, that FAITH in God,
… in that personal relationship with God,
that connects us to the promises of God!

and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
      Heb 11:6
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.
      Heb 11:1

God is the substance, the reality of all that is created,
…and faith is what connects us with God,
and it is through faith in God and in His words to us,
… that faith becomes the evidence of things not yet seen.

The way you think…

Posted on 3 CommentsPosted in Character, Potential, Value

                     Changing the way you think,
will change the way you live!

For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.
      Prov 23:7

      Changing the way you think,
… will change the way you live,
… will change the way you treat others,
will be the proof of whose you are!

be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
      Rom 12:2

The renewing of your mind will get you to think differently,
… and will get rid of the stuff from this world, that is in your mind.

Unless we let God’s Word renew our minds,
… to where we start thinking differently, God’s way, not the world’s way,
it does not matter how much of God’s Word we read,
… we will not be transformed and not benefit from God’s Word.

God does things His way, His Word works His way,
… and not the way of the world.
Therefore, whilst we think the world’s way, and not His way,
… we will never walk in the fullness of His Word,

When we think His way, we will start acting His way,
… then our lives will become a living proof of His will,
showing the world in our own lives the reality of a living God,
… by living His good, acceptable and perfect will!

that you may prove what is that good and acceptable
      and perfect will of God.

      Rom 12:2

… the Title Deed

Faith is … the Title Deed

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.
      Heb 11:1

Yes … I see it … but I don’t really see it!
Maybe because you are seeing the picture,
… but not the reality of the picture!

The word evidence (elegchos) – means proof or title deed.
      In other words,
… proof of ownership or title deed to what belongs to you!

Now you may not have received what is yours,
… you may also not live in what belongs to you,
but if it is yours and you have the title deed or proof of ownership,
… then you can claim what legally belongs to you!

if God has promised you something,
… and you have fulfilled His conditions,
… then that promise legally belongs to you
and in faith you present your title deed,
… and receive what is legally yours!
           John 15:7

Denying Self…

Posted on 1 CommentPosted in Character, Life, Potential

What did Jesus really mean when He said,
“Whoever desires to come after Me,
      let him deny himself

      Mark 8:34

Did Jesus want us to give up all that we have,,
… our families, our comfort, our belongings,
… in order to follow Him?

No, not at all,
In fact right afterwards Jesus explained what He meant,

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world,
      and loses his own soul?
Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
      Mark 8:36-37

In other words,
It is not about what you have,
… but about what has you!

What price have you paid to have what you have?
Did you compromise to get what you’ve got?

God wants us to prosper,
… and have our needs and desires met,
according to His riches in glory, (Phil.4:19)
… and not according to our efforts and scheming.

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things
and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
      3 John 2

Jesus was saying that following Him means,
… doing things according to His standard,
… by denying our way of thinking,
and doing what we do with others in mind.

If your focus is on others,
… then your life will be fruitful,
and your soul will be prospering!
That is how you deny self!

To be or not to be …

Posted on Leave a commentPosted in Potential, Promises, Relationship

                                    … where are you?

There are so many wonderful promises in the Bible,
and one of my favourites is …

To them God willed to make known what are
the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles:
which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
      Col 1:27

However for that glory to be real in our lives,
… as with anything that can impact our lives,
we need to receive and live what ‘Christ in us’ is,
… we need to live in what He has done and prepared for us!
And, where will we find and live all Christ has done for us?

for in Him we live and move and have our being,
      Acts 17:28

In other words, to truly benefit from all that Jesus did for us,
… we need to walk in or live all that He has done for us!
As Jesus very specifically told us …

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you,
you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
      John 15:7

A powerful promise and instruction, leading to …

      By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit;
so you will be My disciples.
      John 15:8

All that Jesus did on the cross is there for us … IN HIM!

To be or not to be, in Him!
      Where are you?

Binding God’s hands

Posted on 3 CommentsPosted in Faith, Life, Potential

                                Is God not willing …
                             or are His hands bound?

We easily complain that things are just not happening,
… things that we have taken to God,
… prayed about and asked God to sort out,
yet, nothing seems to be happening!

      Why not?
Is God not able or not willing?

Take Abraham as an example …
God told Abraham He would make him the father of many nations,
… that he and Sara would have a son.
Abraham did his best to have God’s promise manifest,
… yet 25 years passed and nothing happened!
Why not?
Because instead of letting God do what He promised,
Abraham and Sara tried to make God’s promise work in their own strength.

And therefore only when Abraham and Sara
… could no longer do anything in their own strength, (Rom.4:19)
only then God could take over,
… and do what He promised 25 years before.

Whatever you take in your hands,
… God will not interfere with,
… because He respects your free will.
But whatever you put in God’s hands,
… God can and will take over and do what He promised.

God is able and God is willing,
… and He will do all that He promised,
if you are willing to put your trust in Him
… and let Him do it His way!

           (John 15:7 – Mark 16:20)

Take your place

Posted on Leave a commentPosted in Life, Potential, Responsibility

To do what you are capable of
… and be who you should be,
is not up to God, but is up to you!

We all have dreams and visions that we want to achieve,
… dreams and visions that God wants to help us achieve,
but waiting for God to make it happen, does not work!

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
      Eph 2:10

God has prepared all that is necessary for you to achieve your dreams,
… and to walk in those visions He has put in your heart.
But you have to be where He can do that in your life.

If you don’t receive what Jesus has done for you,
If you don’t become what God created you to be,
If you don’t take your place in God’s kingdom that you have in Christ,
Then God cannot do in your life whatever He planned to do,
      and …
Jesus cannot be in your life
… all that His death on the cross procured for you.

Jesus in Luke 15 gave us a great example in the parable of the prodigal son.

The son thought he himself could make something out of his life,
… but all his efforts were in vain and he wasted all he had,
So he made the best decision of his life; to go back to his father.
The son realised that only if he went home,
… could he get help from his father.

The son did not expect that his father would receive him as a son,
… all he was hoping for was to be received as a servant!
However, the father had no expectations of the son,
… but had been waiting, longing for the return of his son,
… ready to restore him, and to be able to bless him abundantly.

So when the son returned, the father ran to him and embraced him with joy,
… because at last he had his son, who was lost, back,
… and could bless him with all he had prepared and made ready for him!

The Father is waiting, are you on the way home?

Known by God

Posted on Leave a commentPosted in Character, Grace, Love

What does it take for God to know you?

There are a number of places in scripture that quote God and Jesus,
… as saying that they do NOT know you!

Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name,
and done many wonders in Your name?’
And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you;’
      Matt 7:22-23

Harsh? Not at all, for God is actually protecting us, loving us!
God knows everything,
… but He gave us a free will, which He fervently protects,
therefore what we don’t share with Him or live before Him,
He has no part of, because it’s our choice to share!

So what does it take for God to know you?
But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him.
      1 Cor. 8:3

Why love?
Because love shows or expresses what is in you,
What you do and how you act towards others,
… is a reflection of your heart, the who you really are,
As John wrote,

He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
      1 John 4:8

And we have known and believed the love that God has for us.
God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God,
      and God in him.
      1 John 4:16

Want to be known by God,
… and be welcomed into His feast?
Reach out to others where you are,
…and God be there reaching out to you (where you are).

But without faith it is impossible to please Him,
for he who comes to God must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder
of those who diligently seek Him.
      Heb. 11:6

A Smart User …

Posted on Leave a commentPosted in Creativity, Potential, Value

Are you a Smart User, or letting an opportunity slip?

      Are you a Smart User?

In past generations, but even more so today,
… there have been countless possibilities and limitless potential!
But, to truly benefit from any kind of potential,
… you need to seize every opportunity,
to use and apply the potential that is available!
You need to be a Smart User!

The same applies to God’s Word,
… which is not only full, but overflowing with
… opportunities and potential that God put before us.
But, as with any opportunity or potential,
… unless you take hold of it and apply it in your life,
… it will simply remain, words in a book!
You need to be a ‘Smart User!’

If you want to live that victorious and full life the Bible promises,
and do the greater works that Jesus said we would do …

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me,
the works that I do he will do also; and greater works
      than these he will do
, because I go to My Father.
      John 14:12

then you need to do what you do,
… in exactly the same ‘SMART’ way that Jesus did,
and NOT according to your way, your strength or your plans,
but according to God’s way and God’s plans!

I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself,
but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does,
the Son also does in like manner.
      John 5:19

Be ‘Smart’, be like Jesus, and be a successful and victorious ‘Smart’ user!

Proof of Life …

Posted on Leave a commentPosted in Grace, Love, Value

Do you need proof that God exists?

Do you need proof that God exists,
… that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are real?

Then simply ask yourself …
Why is it that we, mankind,
… are still here on earth today?
How is it that we ourselves,
… some happening or great force,
has not annihilated or destroyed the earth
… and all mankind with it?

This world and mankind have experienced disastrous wars,
… natural calamities and man made destruction,
Yet. man is still here and man is still developing!

The answer is very simple, God’s Grace …

      For I am the Lord, I do not change;
Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.
      Mal 3:6

God created us in His image and likeness,
… and He has not and will not change His mind,
and the quicker we receive all of His mercy and love,
… the quicker we will live in the fullness of His grace,

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love
with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses,
made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
and raised us up together, and made us sit together
in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches
      of His grace
in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
For by grace you have been saved through faith,
and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

not of works, lest anyone should boast.
      Eph 2:4-9
