To be or not to be …

Posted on Leave a commentPosted in Potential, Promises, Relationship

                                    … where are you?

There are so many wonderful promises in the Bible,
and one of my favourites is …

To them God willed to make known what are
the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles:
which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
      Col 1:27

However for that glory to be real in our lives,
… as with anything that can impact our lives,
we need to receive and live what ‘Christ in us’ is,
… we need to live in what He has done and prepared for us!
And, where will we find and live all Christ has done for us?

for in Him we live and move and have our being,
      Acts 17:28

In other words, to truly benefit from all that Jesus did for us,
… we need to walk in or live all that He has done for us!
As Jesus very specifically told us …

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you,
you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
      John 15:7

A powerful promise and instruction, leading to …

      By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit;
so you will be My disciples.
      John 15:8

All that Jesus did on the cross is there for us … IN HIM!

To be or not to be, in Him!
      Where are you?

Binding God’s hands

                                Is God not willing …
                             or are His hands bound?

We easily complain that things are just not happening,
… things that we have taken to God,
… prayed about and asked God to sort out,
yet, nothing seems to be happening!

      Why not?
Is God not able or not willing?

Take Abraham as an example …
God told Abraham He would make him the father of many nations,
… that he and Sara would have a son.
Abraham did his best to have God’s promise manifest,
… yet 25 years passed and nothing happened!
Why not?
Because instead of letting God do what He promised,
Abraham and Sara tried to make God’s promise work in their own strength.

And therefore only when Abraham and Sara
… could no longer do anything in their own strength, (Rom.4:19)
only then God could take over,
… and do what He promised 25 years before.

Whatever you take in your hands,
… God will not interfere with,
… because He respects your free will.
But whatever you put in God’s hands,
… God can and will take over and do what He promised.

God is able and God is willing,
… and He will do all that He promised,
if you are willing to put your trust in Him
… and let Him do it His way!

           (John 15:7 – Mark 16:20)

Take your place

Posted on Leave a commentPosted in Life, Potential, Responsibility

To do what you are capable of
… and be who you should be,
is not up to God, but is up to you!

We all have dreams and visions that we want to achieve,
… dreams and visions that God wants to help us achieve,
but waiting for God to make it happen, does not work!

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
      Eph 2:10

God has prepared all that is necessary for you to achieve your dreams,
… and to walk in those visions He has put in your heart.
But you have to be where He can do that in your life.

If you don’t receive what Jesus has done for you,
If you don’t become what God created you to be,
If you don’t take your place in God’s kingdom that you have in Christ,
Then God cannot do in your life whatever He planned to do,
      and …
Jesus cannot be in your life
… all that His death on the cross procured for you.

Jesus in Luke 15 gave us a great example in the parable of the prodigal son.

The son thought he himself could make something out of his life,
… but all his efforts were in vain and he wasted all he had,
So he made the best decision of his life; to go back to his father.
The son realised that only if he went home,
… could he get help from his father.

The son did not expect that his father would receive him as a son,
… all he was hoping for was to be received as a servant!
However, the father had no expectations of the son,
… but had been waiting, longing for the return of his son,
… ready to restore him, and to be able to bless him abundantly.

So when the son returned, the father ran to him and embraced him with joy,
… because at last he had his son, who was lost, back,
… and could bless him with all he had prepared and made ready for him!

The Father is waiting, are you on the way home?

Known by God

What does it take for God to know you?

There are a number of places in scripture that quote God and Jesus,
… as saying that they do NOT know you!

Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name,
and done many wonders in Your name?’
And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you;’
      Matt 7:22-23

Harsh? Not at all, for God is actually protecting us, loving us!
God knows everything,
… but He gave us a free will, which He fervently protects,
therefore what we don’t share with Him or live before Him,
He has no part of, because it’s our choice to share!

So what does it take for God to know you?
But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him.
      1 Cor. 8:3

Why love?
Because love shows or expresses what is in you,
What you do and how you act towards others,
… is a reflection of your heart, the who you really are,
As John wrote,

He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
      1 John 4:8

And we have known and believed the love that God has for us.
God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God,
      and God in him.
      1 John 4:16

Want to be known by God,
… and be welcomed into His feast?
Reach out to others where you are,
…and God be there reaching out to you (where you are).

But without faith it is impossible to please Him,
for he who comes to God must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder
of those who diligently seek Him.
      Heb. 11:6

A Smart User …

Are you a Smart User, or letting an opportunity slip?

      Are you a Smart User?

In past generations, but even more so today,
… there have been countless possibilities and limitless potential!
But, to truly benefit from any kind of potential,
… you need to seize every opportunity,
to use and apply the potential that is available!
You need to be a Smart User!

The same applies to God’s Word,
… which is not only full, but overflowing with
… opportunities and potential that God put before us.
But, as with any opportunity or potential,
… unless you take hold of it and apply it in your life,
… it will simply remain, words in a book!
You need to be a ‘Smart User!’

If you want to live that victorious and full life the Bible promises,
and do the greater works that Jesus said we would do …

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me,
the works that I do he will do also; and greater works
      than these he will do
, because I go to My Father.
      John 14:12

then you need to do what you do,
… in exactly the same ‘SMART’ way that Jesus did,
and NOT according to your way, your strength or your plans,
but according to God’s way and God’s plans!

I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself,
but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does,
the Son also does in like manner.
      John 5:19

Be ‘Smart’, be like Jesus, and be a successful and victorious ‘Smart’ user!

Proof of Life …

Posted on Leave a commentPosted in Grace, Love, Value

Do you need proof that God exists?

Do you need proof that God exists,
… that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are real?

Then simply ask yourself …
Why is it that we, mankind,
… are still here on earth today?
How is it that we ourselves,
… some happening or great force,
has not annihilated or destroyed the earth
… and all mankind with it?

This world and mankind have experienced disastrous wars,
… natural calamities and man made destruction,
Yet. man is still here and man is still developing!

The answer is very simple, God’s Grace …

      For I am the Lord, I do not change;
Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.
      Mal 3:6

God created us in His image and likeness,
… and He has not and will not change His mind,
and the quicker we receive all of His mercy and love,
… the quicker we will live in the fullness of His grace,

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love
with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses,
made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
and raised us up together, and made us sit together
in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches
      of His grace
in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
For by grace you have been saved through faith,
and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

not of works, lest anyone should boast.
      Eph 2:4-9

A Conqueror

                                    A Conqueror is not born.
                                    A Conqueror is made!

Do you want to see God’s promises,
… fulfilled in every area of your life?
A conqueror, living a victorious and full life.

What does – being a conqueror mean?

You are not a conqueror,
… because God said you’re a conqueror.
You don’t become a conqueror,
… because God overcomes your challenges,
… or because God takes care of your problems for you.
a conqueror is someone who himself takes the initiative!

You become a conqueror because you step out,
… because you stand against those adverse circumstances,
… because you are doing something to overcome those challenges.

However, you are not doing it in your own strength,
… but you rely on God to be your strength,
… you rely on God to do what He promised to do,
helping you to face the challenge, standing in His strength,
so that He can make you to be,
… the conqueror that you are, in Him!

Yet in all these things we are more than
conquerors through Him who loved us.
      Rom 8:37

Seeing what God sees

Posted on Leave a commentPosted in Challenge, Faith, Promises

We have to start believing God’s Word,
even if we cannot ‘see’ God’s Word manifest (yet)!

When it comes to knowing and understanding God,
… our problem is that we always look at things from our perspective,
… instead of seeing things the way God sees them.
In fact the one verse that we so easily quote,
… is probably the one we least understand.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.
      Heb. 11:1

When we have a need that requires God’s provision or intervention,
… we look at His promises and what His Word says,
then ‘step out in faith’ based on Hebrews 11:1,
… but have we really understood and stepped out in faith?

Are we really seeing what God sees for our lives?

Take for instance a child at a swimming pool,
… to the child the pool looks inviting,
… and he does not see any danger at all!
However an adult knows the true depth and sees the danger!

Similarly, when God looks at our lives and circumstances,
… He does not see things the way we see it,
but He sees what He has purposed and promised.
Therefore, if we want to live what God purposed and promised in His Word,
we need to start seeing things the way God sees them,
and start believing what God made available to us through Jesus!

God’s promises are not just words in a book,
… but they are pictures of what God has made available for us,
And, when we start seeing what God sees, and take hold of that in faith,
that is when faith becomes the substance
and the evidence of things not seen!

But without faith it is impossible to please Him,
for he who comes to God must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder
of those who diligently seek Him.
      Heb. 11:6

Only say …

Posted on Leave a commentPosted in Character, Life, Relationship

Through the social media networks and web based search engines,
… information gathering has become a rather simple task.

However, how much of that information can be trusted,
… and on what do you base your decision making,
particularly when it comes to decisions about life.

What do you decide, to say and do?

Jesus gave us the perfect example in His life on earth,
… not only as a youth seeking the scriptures for God’s will,
but when it came to taking a decision,
… specifically about what to say and what to do,
Jesus told what the secret of His success was …

      I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge;
      and My judgment is righteous,
because I do not seek My own will
but the will of the Father who sent Me.
      1 John 5:30

Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly,
I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself,
      but what He sees the Father do;
for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.
      1 John 5:19

Like Jesus, we also should only say and only do,
… what we hear and see the Father do!

      But remember
It is not what you think God should say or do for you,
      and …
It is not about what you desire or want God to do,
      but …
It is about seeking the will of the Father,
… what He says and tells you to do,
… so that He can do His will in your life and circumstances!

The Verdict

Posted on 1 CommentPosted in Life, Promises, Responsibility

                                           Who is responsible?
                                             What is the verdict?

There are many who believe and even say that,
God is responsible for everything that’s happening on earth,
… that He is responsible for not stopping wars,
… that He is responsible for people getting sick,
… and even for allowing sickness to teach us!
Whilst others believe that God’s only intention is to bless!

Therefore seeing that it is time to get this sorted out,
      … particularly considering man’s plight,
… and the need to get man out of his dilemma,
God initiated proceedings and called for a Court decision!

Who is responsible for what happens on earth?

Is God responsible and does He have the right to decide,
… is it God’s choice what happens on earth?
      Or …
Is man responsible and does he have the right to decide,
… is it man’s choice what happens on earth?

After numerous complaints about all the wrongs on earth,
… and insinuations that it’s all God’s doing and holding Him accountable,
God took the stand, and referring to the Book of Deuteronomy, Ch. 30,
showed that His only desire and intention is to bless man,
and that no evil should befall man at all!
However God also said, that for this to happen, there is a condition,
a responsibility that needs to be taken by man,
and concluded by saying …

I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you,
      that I have set before YOU life and death, blessing and cursing;
      therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;
      Deut 30:19

God said, all of heaven, and all of earth are His witnesses,
… that He has set life and blessing before man,
but the decision for or against that is man’s responsibility,
… and therefore if man does not choose to take what God has offered,
then He is not responsible if things go wrong in man’s life!
