Celebrating Communion …

Posted on Posted in Faith

Man made a sad decision in the Garden of Eden,
… when he distanced himself from God, because of SELF!
God made a grace decision when He gave us Jesus,
… to make it possible for man to return to Him,
Man now has to make the decision to accept, receive
… and confirm what Jesus did, through Covenant & Communion!

For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you:
     that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;
     and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat;
this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying,
“This cup is the new covenant in My blood.
This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
     1 Cor 11:23-25

Why do we partake of Communion,
and what is it that Jesus wants us to remember?

When Jesus instituted Communion, He said two very specific things,
This is My body broken for you (a divine exchange).
This cup is the new covenant (between the Father and His people)
     … confirmed in My blood.
So quite clearly Jesus wants us to remember,
… the price He paid, in His blood, to wash away our sins,
… and that His body was broken so that our bodies could be healed!

1 Peter 2:24 tells us this,
… who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree,
that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness,
by whose stripes you were healed.

Don’t just say amen, but expect and receive the complete healing of your body,
… by remembering and accepting how much Jesus loves you!,

In John 10:10 Jesus said this,
I have come that they may have life,
and that they may have it more abundantly.

If it is your decision to receive the fullness of that Covenant in His blood,
Then say so and confirm your decision,
… by remembering and receiving all that Jesus shed His blood for, for you!

God gave us a freewill, and it is up to each of us,
… to use our free will to choose life (Deut.30:19)
You proclaim the Lord’s death, on your behalf, till He comes,
… by confessing the fullness of the New Covenant ratified in His blood.

The result (1 John 4:17)
As we receive in our spirit, soul and physical body – today,
what Jesus has done for us on the cross …
Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness
in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world (today).

But there is one thing that can hinder us from receiving anything,

“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone,
forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.
But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
     Mark 11:25-26

We have to breakdown any barrier that unforgiveness causes in our lives.
It does not matter who or what they did … forgive and get rid of it!
Otherwise you will not be in a position to receive those blessings God has for you!

     As Paul wrote,
But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
     1 Cor 11:28

Leave no door open to the enemy by giving him something to use against you!
Shut that door … forgive so you are open to receive!

     Don’t just take communion,
… but celebrate communion as often as you like,
expressing your desire to be in His presence,
… becoming part of Him, becoming one with Him,
drawing from Him the fullness of the New Covenant in His blood,
… basking in the love of the Father,
… expressed in the sacrifice of His Son.

And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it,
and gave it to them, saying,
     “This is My body which is given for you;
do this in remembrance of Me.”
Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying,
“This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.
