‘What you see is what you get.’
A catch phrase from the early computer graphics days!
And sure, so much of life is based on a similar principle,
… seeing is believing!
Show me what you have in mind or plan to do,
… before I will invest in or sponsor your idea or plan!
Yet, when it comes to believing God, the Biblical interpretation is,
… seeing is not believing!
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.
However, does not the Bible also say …
Where there is no vision, the people perish:
So why is it that unless we see something, we will not achieve anything?
Simply because we have difficulty believing, even God, beyond our concept,
… and what we believe is mainly limited to what we can envisage!
Therefore, if we see ourselves as being sick,
… believing that we are well, is difficult!
The Bible teaches us how seeing, believing and faith works.
But without faith it is impossible to please Him,
for he who comes to God must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Proverbs tells us that we need to have a vision,
… a picture of something that we can believe in.
Not an object that we can physically see, (2 Cor.4:18)
… but that picture we see and believe, based on God’s Word,
… that we can step into, in faith!
Start seeing yourself the way God sees you,
… and what God’s Word says about you,
– healthy, blessed, living an abundant life –
that will impact on your concept of how you see yourself.
You will start believing God’s Word, and
… what you see is what you will get!
